Green Credentials – The Course's Environment

Green Credentials – The Course's Environment
Woll Golf Courses take on looking after the Scottish Borders environment

The course is maintained using the minimum of fertilisers and pesticides. The soil is rich and drains well allowing a very natural approach to the presentation of the course.

The Green team actively encourages wild life by keeping wild uncut areas where possible where no golfer should be! and creating and maintaining ponds and wet areas to encourage a diversity of wild life.

Greens
The greens are firm throughout the year having a base of sand and gravel underneath and fine grasses on the surface. The head Greenkeepers advice is "hit it online with pace".

Fairways
Fairways are gentle and provide flat lies. There are not too many bunkers but they are strategically placed. (See the greenside bunkers at the 7th green for example)

Rough
The rough is kept to a reasonable length so that you should always be able to find your ball.
